International Women’s Day 2021

Since the beginning, GD Financial Markets has cared deeply about gender equality.

We recognise the importance of equity, diversity, and inclusion – every day and in everything we do.

Today is International Women’s Day, this gives us an opportunity to reinforce our commitment and continue to build a future where women’s equality in the workplace and women’s achievements are celebrated.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is: choose to challenge.

And in line with this theme, we recognise that we need to challenge ourselves first.

GDFM has made some great strides towards more female leadership in 2020 with Libby Denchfield becoming part of our board, Sarah Peaston and Clarisse Mallem becoming head of their respective practices, Aarti O’Donnell being promoted to Chief of Staff and Aqsa Majeed being promoted to Head of Delivery.

Our workforce is diverse, not only in terms of gender but also in terms of race, religion, and backgrounds. This is something we actively nurture and we ensure that equal pay is maintained.

However, we cannot and will not rest on our laurels. We are in the process of introducing an unconscious bias training programme compulsory at all levels of our organisation to ensure that we recognise that a more women-friendly workplace, is also a more human-friendly workplace that benefits all of us and our clients.

Feel free to #ChooseToChallenge and provide your ideas to further enhance equity, diversity and inclusion in GDFM.

Happy International Women’s Day everyone!
